4 steps ashore

Of course, Sausset’s main attractions are its harbour and the café terraces overlooking it. Those with an interest in town planning can look closer and recognise various architectural styles, from the little family station (not immediately identifiable) to the most recent additions. These are fairly diverse, with a preference for low buildings (rarely over 4 stories) in the Provençal colours of ochre, saffron, green and blues. There are two easy walks you can take, either to Carry-le-Rouet (a route which often goes along the road) or towards La Couronne (leave 1 – 1 ½ hours). If you have the choice, we recommend the latter, as there’s a dedicated pedestrian route around a mostly undeveloped part of the coast, leading to the pretty beach at La Couronne.
You can also go horse riding in the surrounding countryside, which is planted with pines and olive trees. Contact “Crinières de la Côte Bleue” (04 42 45 60 65).
