4 steps ashore
Every morning when the fishermen have been out the night before, their wives, mothers, female cousins or partners sell a wide variety of fish on the south quay – the kind that’s so fresh that “if it were any fresher, it’d still be in the sea!”
If you have the talent and the audacity, you can challenge the local jack enthusiasts to a game of petanque at the ground encircling the end of the harbour. It shares its friendly local atmosphere with the Fishermens’ Club on the other side of the road.
You can also go for a walk along the coast path, known as the Loup de Mer, as far as Sausset les Pins, via Cap Couronne and the eponymous village. ![]()
